employee discounts

I was in REI returning my sleeping bag earlier this week, because I felt that 1) I did not actually like down sleeping bags and 2) I do not like right-hand zips. So I was then browsing for a replacement bag, and asked a guy who was working there if he had any advice for me. He noticed my t-shirt that says "hi, I make macintosh software" (thanks, Cabel!) and so we got to talking, and in the end, I swapped discount Apple software with him for discounts at REI. So now I have a new, synthetic Sierra Designs sleeping bag that weighs barely more than the down one I returned, and I only paid $60 for it. The one I returned was $140 on sale. Woohoo! Discounts-for-discounts rule.
