random planning errors
Jun. 25th, 2004 08:40 am1) I scheduled an appointment to get our Prius looked at at Toyota yesterday for 1:00, and scheduled my therapist appointment at 2:00 pm. At 1:55 pm, the Prius technician just got around to taking me out for the road test, and so I got to be dropped off somewhat close to my therapist's and then walked the last half-mile there. Afterwards, I walked 2.5 miles back to the Toyota dealership, picked up my car, and was 15 minutes late for my next appointment, with an old professor at Cal. Blah.
2) Two days ago, I got all proactive on my money and started transferring money around. I tried to transfer a certain amount from my brokerage account to my regular bank so that I could transfer that money in turn to a money market account. Well, instead of being smart and waiting for each of those things to clear sequentially, I blithely went ahead and set up all of those movements more or less simultaneously. Stupid. I then proceeded to make some other trades on my brokerage account, net result of which is that I ended up with less cash than the original check called for. So, now I've had to take charges for the original stop check and two bounces. I feel pretty dumb now.
Blah. It's not been a good two days for me.
